DOES fit '09 Tacoma

Okay so I saved myself 3 grand in not buying the 4X4, but I had no idea how hard it would be to find some decent accessories for my '09 Tacoma 2wd reg cab. Not sure if all the manufacturers/websites are just lazy or what, but no one lists '09 as fitting their products (i.e. brushguards, bumpers, side bars, ect.) After consulting the parts guys at the Toyota Dealer who stated there is no difference between the '08 and '09 front ends, I decided to take the plunge and buy this Smittybilt Bumper Guard for $160 with FREE super saver shipping. I pride myself in being quite the savvy internet shopper, and after much scouting of the various off road store's pages, this is by far the best bargain.
The install could have been easier (all I received was a picture to reference), but was not by any means difficult. Two brackets bolt to the front of the frame and the bumper bolts into them. After setup, the two brackets were installed with "lock-tite red" in under 15 minute s. A partner is very helpful when mounting the bumper to the brackets. Not only will they take the stress off the loose bolts on the bracket, they can also give a good second opinion of what bumper angle looks the best before you tighten everything down. I placed several sheets of cardboard in between the factory bumper and the bumper guard to keep the spacing uniform when tightening as my partner held it in place. If you used the lock-tite like I did, plan on leaving it on for a while.
Pros: Large solid bumper made by a quality manufacturer for a very decent price. Pre-drilled holes for later addition of off road lights. All parts were well packaged and arrived without a scratch on them (the box was destroyed though...).
Cons: I would have preferred to have a matte-black finish similar to that of the stock bumper as apposed to shiny-black, but oh well.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase form Amazon. Other places on the net will a dvertise this bumper for the same price, but will want $60-$100 to ship it. Buy it when the "free super saver shipping" is offered and you are set.

I have no fear of people parking in front of me because they are intimidated by this thing.

Well made. Looks great

Looks good, made from quality materials but the problem is there are NO INSTRUCTIONS! Granted you CAN figure it out, but the diagram provided looks like something one of my kids drew. I had some trouble figuring out which of the washers and bolts they were referring to in the diagram. I needed to do a little trial and error till I got it right. In the end it was fine. I would recommend it but be prepared to scratch your head a little.
