Good respirator

Very comfortable, easy to adjust. It comes with a scotch guard cover that makes cleaning the lens even easier. The exhaust system also prevents fogging and overheating.

A great step up for regular full face APR users

I purchased these as an upgrade for our workplace from the 3M 6800 Series. This is a mid-range, negative pressure air-purifying respirator (APR). The outermost area of the mask is the same, but the inner mask is soft and forms a good seal without marking your face. The speaking diaphragm works well, and the field of view is rather good. The straps on this model really are quite a bit more comfortable, in that I never perceive the mask to be digging into my skull from the back. It's always tightening the seal around my face.

As a note, if you have a problem fitting someone around the temples, you should try the 3M 7800 Series Full Facepiece Respirators. Quite a bit more expensive, but it's worth it for a good fit and buying the same filter media. The fit characteristics of this particular mask (FF-40X) seem very similar to the 6800 series.

Ultra comfortable and protective

I use this now much more than a half-mask because it's almost as comfortable, and so much more protective. When spraying lacquer it's nice to be just totally isolated, and this mask does the job. I have a somewhat narrow face, and found it to be just a tad wide, but after disassembly and careful bending about 1/8" with a heat gun, it fits perfectly. I wear it for 6 hours a day sometimes, and it doesn't bother me a bit.
